When you’re running a business, your focus is on your staff and customers – not your commercial boiler. However, maintaining your commercial boiler is an important part of providing a safe environment for both your staff and your customers.
Commercial gas and oil appliances often need more maintenance than domestic ones. This is down to the fact that they are used much more frequently and as a result are more prone to general wear and tear. Work must be carried out on commercial boilers at more frequent service intervals to ensure appliances are operating at maximum efficiency.
If your business relies on its commercial boiler to keep its customers happy, like in the case of hotels and guest houses, it’s essential to ensure your boiler is maintained regularly to ensure your customers have a pleasant experience.
The risk of breakdown, and interruption to your business operations, can be significantly reduced by effective maintenance and servicing. However, reliability is not the only reason you should regularly service and maintain your commercial boiler.
If your commercial boiler is gas operated, it is illegal for anyone other than a Registered Gas Installer to service your boiler. If your commercial boiler is oil powered, it is still recommended that you use a registered technician for any commercial boiler servicing.
Only Registered Gas Installers (RGI) and registered technicians, will have the required competency and experience to adequately set up, repair and service your gas appliances. The RGI is also the only one qualified to check if your boiler is correctly installed and operating in a suitable environment.
